It's been almost a year since the last entry.
Chanced upon a friend's old blog and thought of our blog here.
That's why I have decided to just post an entry to make it alive again.
It's a Friday, so TGIF~ ^^
I am blogging this from work and I can't wait to knock off to go for my tattoo appointment!
----------------------
And now the tattoo appointment is rescheduled.. :(
I just received the artist's whatsapp saying that she just seen the doc and some of her fingers are feeling numb due to long hours of work. She's gonna be resting for the next 3 days and I will see her hopefully on Sep 11 evening.
It's OK, although a little disappointed, but I gotta tell myself 'good things gotta be patient and wait'.
Oh well, so what do I do after work today?
I guess it's Happy Hour time then but too bad my throat is bad and phlegm builds up, too nasal, can't sing :(
Am missing my dear colleague, Eeleen. She is now enjoying herself in Europe! Too Shioks la!
Kinda bored at work.. ~~

4D3N Ho Chi Min City Trip
Just got back from my 4D3N trip to Ho Chi Min city 2 days ago & I'm here to pump some life to this long forgotten blog!
1st Day:
This was a last minute trip that we booked a week before & I wanted to make full use of my 2 days off-in-lieu. Since my hubby went there twice and he really enjoyed it, my parents and I decided to have a short getaway together.
1st Day:
When I arrived at the airport, I was quite surprised that it was not as bad as I thought but later found out that they recently renovated this airport so it's quite new.
The air in Vietnam is not so clean and the traffic was so damn scary and the roads were full of motorbikes and scooters. Mum and I were having a hard time crossing the roads and we were screaming and making so much noise everytime we crossed the roads. As time passes, we learnt that we just have to act blind and act deaf and ignore all the horning and walk at a constant speed. The drivers would maneuver their way around you to avoid hitting you.
After checking in Elios hotel, we went to Ben Than market to eat their famous Chendol and ice coffee (really thick and fragrant). The market was full of nuts and coffee, where I bought some fried lotus seeds before I return to Singapore.
There was a park nearby where a lot of people were enjoying themselves and I was told because they don't have much places for entertainment, couples often hang around the park as a form of dating.

This is their famous Ho Chi Min statue - which we have conveniently given the nickname as "Yue Fei" lol~
The beer there was freaking cheap & we each bought a can from the K-mart while waiting for kun's friend, Manfred.
Yup, we are alcoholics~ haha!
Manfred brought us to a seafood place for dinner and their shells were so fresh and delicious. Most importantly, it was CHEAP! Only paid about S$100+ for the following dishes (plus beer).
Manfred wanted to bring us to some local bar for drinks but when our cab arrived outside the bar, the music was super loud and there was a queue outside the bar. We didn't like the 'feel' and 'look' of it, so we decided to head to a quieter angmoh bar. We ordered 1 tower of beer for S$22! Freaking S$22 when it costs average cheapest S$67 in Singapore!
After finishing the tower, we headed to a local eating place for supper and more beer! (Seriously feeling super fat!) Had some chicken wings, duck tongue and noodle soup before we called it a night!
First time eat duck tongue
2nd Day:
Woke up for the complimentary breakfast at the hotel sky bar restaurant before heading for a spa treat at Cat Moc Spa.
I did a 'Renewal' spa package which consists of Hot Steam Bath + Hot Sauna + Yoghurt Sea Salt Body Scrub + Hot Stone Massage + Foot Care. It costs about S$50+ in total and the duration was around 3 hours. They made us do a survey form each and Kun wrote 'average' for all the questions and wrote some remarks as well. This resulted in a 15% discount on his spa bill and a free cab ride to our next destination!
Had Pho soup at some local eating place and we were so full! Love their cut chilli but it's super spicy so gotta gauge the amount you want in your food!
Headed to Saigon Square and it started drizzling. Shopped around and bought some nice and cheap dresses! Mum went back another day to buy her winter jacket for her Hokkaido trip in Nov and Kun got 2 belts. Saigon Square is like bugis street but the stalls don't look so nice.
Before dinner, we still went to this sky bar at another hotel and had a bottle of beer each. Chit chat and enjoy the nice weather and view before it started to drizzle again...
Dinner time we went to this pork noodle place called Tung Hung and had an early night because we had to wake up real early the following day.
3rd Day:
We had our 1-Day Mekong River tour and set off at 8.30am! Poor kun had some kind of food poisoning and was feeling terrible. His tummy was so bloated and he couldn't sleep since 4am, felt like puking but he couldn't puke and couldn't detox. He managed to endure throughout the whole day and by the time he got back to the hotel for a short nap, he had fever while the 3 of us went for a Japanese dinner.
Anyway, back to the Mekong River tour... The bus ride was 1.5 hours to Mekong River and for S$12, I must say it was so worth it for the experience. Let the pictures speak for themselves:
After kun woke up and felt slightly better, he met up with us to go for a super relaxing and foot massage. For me, this was the greatest foot massage I ever tried. They even used hot stone and it made me fall asleep. Apart from the foot massage, they also help you to do some body and neck massage.
4th and Final Day:
Luckily our flight was the late flight so we still had some time for last-minute shopping at Benthan Market, Saigon Square and Taka Plaza.
Had a nice tea break at this french bread cafe... their bread so nice can?
Then we pampered ourselves at a nail parlour to do pedi mani, which was so cheap as compared to Singapore can!?
Managed to take photos at their famous cathedral and post office....
We went to this N5 bar for dinner, which had freeflow draft beer from 3.30pm to 7pm and costs S$7 per pax! Incredible deal right?!?! I drank 7 mugs and was a little tipsy by the time we headed to the airport.
It was the first time I was tipsy crossing the custom and boarding a plane. Slept throughout the flight and touched down in Singapore at 12.50am.
Super tired by then~~~ reached home like 1.15am, bathed, unpack a little, and slept at 2.30am~~~ And went to work the next day feeling SUPER SUPER TIRED and HEAVY!!!!
Yup.. that's my short getaway and although I came back to work feeling so zombified, I felt it was worth it!
The only sad thing was that Tyler didn't seem to miss me at all and he even almost couldn't call out Ah Yi~~~~ Boohoo~~ :(
Haha, anyway, it's really worth it going to Ho Chi Min city if you want a short getaway and drink CHEAP BEER, have nice and cheap massage, do pedi mani and you could also get some good buys surprisingly! Not to forget good food too! The downside is that there is communication problem and you need to take some time to get used to the traffic.
Went to have some coffee ...
This is so special.. bittergourd with coffee...tastes nice surprisingly!
